#HACK is back this October
Hopefully your calendar in October isn’t already full. Indigitous #HACK is returning for its third year and you won’t want to miss it. The first two years saw more than 2,100 technologists and creative join together in 70 cities to collaborate on 125 projects of missional importance. This year Indigitous #HACK will be held October 19-21 worldwide.
What is a hackathon?
A hackathon is an event in which technologists and creatives join together to collaborate intensively on projects. Hacking is creating a quick, creative solution to a problem and our hackers work together to solve some of the problems that God has put on their hearts.
What people have said about #HACK
“Seeing so many people passionate about using and sharing their gifts for God’s kingdom brings tears of joy to my eyes,” said one location lead. Another location lead said, “on the event weekend, the Holy Spirit moved among the developers and teams. It opened their minds to allow ideas and communications to take root… God has already put people in place to make this happen.”
Participants also had a lot to say about their experience at Indigitous #HACK. Participants have called #HACK a combination of “church camp and a hackathon” and a great way of “seeing God’s mission in action.” One participant said a highlight was “collaborating with other people, seeing the project go from idea to conceptualization to materialization.”
Bring #HACK to your city
Are you interested in bringing #HACK to your local community or campus? Small or large events, simple or fancy, Indigitous needs leaders like you who don’t just want to participate, but want to enable other people to get involved, too! Imagine getting a small army of Christian technologists together in your city to work on creating solutions to the real problems that are facing your community. Think of the impact it could have for the Gospel, for your community, and for engaging your community to live on mission digitally.
Indigitous #HACK is about “creating a place where the people can understand more clearly how God is calling them,” said one location lead. By bringing #HACK to your city, you can help the people of your community find that calling.
