Throughout the month of May, Indigitous is taking part in an outreach campaign called GO Month (Global Outreach Month). The campaign is part of GO Movement. The goal of the campaign is to have every Christian share their faith with at least five people during the month of May. If you took part in GO 2020 last year, this is an extension of that for the new year.
Some of you share your faith regularly. For those of you who are used to doing outreach, we encourage you to continue to do so in May and to help lead others to do the same.
But what about those who don’t usually share their faith? What about those who have never done it before? Those who don’t know how to do it, are uncomfortable starting a faith conversation, and maybe fear rejection? It is those Christians in particular who we are hoping to help equip for this challenge.
31 Days of Digital Outreach Challenge
Indigitous has a 31 Days of Digital Outreach challenge, where we provide a different thing you can do each day to do your part in sharing the Gospel. Outreach doesn’t have to be scary. Instead of a big risky endeavor, you can ask God to help you take a small step each day. This 31-day challenge is one way to do that. Each day there will be a different task — from prayer prompts to social media posts to suggested conversations and more.
Still not convinced? Maybe you think “they’ll still ask me to do stuff I’m not comfortable doing.” Well, here are a few examples of the daily challenges:
- Share a question you’d like to ask God on social media.
- Gift a coffee to a friend having a hard day.
- Text a friend and ask how you can pray for them today.
You can do those things, right? Of course you can! If you put aside your preconceived notions about evangelism and outreach, you’ll see that none of this is too scary or awkward. It’s something anyone can do and if you’ve never shared your faith or participated in outreach before, this is a great way to get started.
In addition to the 31 Days of Digital Outreach challenge, we’re sharing some helpful resources for GO Month, such as a guide on How to Reach Out to Your Friends Online, a PDF document with 3 Steps in Personal Evangelism, and some helpful mobile apps. Check out our GO Month page for more information about these.
Jesus called us all to make disciples, but He doesn’t leave us on our own to do that. After giving the command to share the Gospel, He is clear to offer a reminder that He is with us always, to the very end of the age. So when you are taking part in GO Month, if you get nervous and you’re not sure what to say, that’s okay. It’s not all on you. God is with you. He can comfort you, guide you, and even speak through you. Are you ready to take a step of faith and see what God will do through you?
Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it. (Habakkuk 2:2)
