When I was invited to lead Indigitous #HACK in Rio de Janeiro, I accepted without thinking twice. The event was only 25 days away. I did not have a trained team, I had no money budgeted, and no resources ready. Call me crazy. I call it passion. I am passionate about the Great Commission and digital strategies and I knew this would be a wonderful opportunity to share the vision and recruit others to the cause. I do not want to be the only one in love.
It was a great challenge. When I look back, I see how God worked small miracles for the event to happen. The way Thiago and I went into sync even though we had never worked together before. The way the right people have come out to participate as mentors, speakers, and volunteers. It was all God!
It’s hard to describe the joy I feel when I remember each participant working, creating, overcoming creative blocks, having fun, and producing. It was worth the sleepless nights, the tears, the stress, the fatigue, the pain in the body … Because Indigitous #HACK was more than a simple event. It was about mobilizing disciples to use their talents for God.
I am grateful to God for being a part of this and for being part of the Indigitous community. We’re just getting started!
