How I Heard God Call Me to be a Digital Missionary

It was a very humbling experience for me to be part of Indigitous Addis. The first digital strategy conference of its kind in Africa. For any revolution to take place in the world, there has always been a first time and I sense a revolution for the church to utilise the digital space to spread the Gospel has just began all over the world.

During the three days at the Indigitous Addis conference it was very clear to me that it was time to build digital tracks for the furtherance of the Kingdom. It is the opportune time for the church to arise and take the stand and posses this mountain. We must move to a generation focused ministry to remain relevant.

Just before His ascension Christ left a command to the disciples to GO YE in Matthew 28:19 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” I was reminded that Jesus did not specify what kind of means/track to use so that we can GO and obey His command. And in my generation I might as well utilise the mobile and other social media strategies and GO. Going to the world has been made possible and easier for our generation that I do not have to travel all over the world but I can get to the world by CLICK of a button and share the Gospel.

As a Head of Department of missions in my local church I will utilise the knowledge I learned in Indigitous Addis and lead my team to come up with a digital outfit that the entire church will be able to utilise for Evangelism and Discipleship.
