Indigitous Jo’burg

Long before the platforms of social media, while the world was idolising information, Africans were already “sharing” and “liking” and “posting” their experiences, richness of culture and treasured memories through storytelling, communal living and modelling the way.

Now the world is ready to embrace what Africa has known all along – having information is not enough we must experience it through each other. Reaching out, sharing our faith and discipling others can now be done faster and further from the comfort and ease of our mobile devices.

If you’re passionate about reaching others with the Gospel join us at Indigitous Jo’burg hosted by Campus Crusade for Christ South Africa as we explore how to use digital resources to revive and renew a culture of Information to Experience.

Indigitous is coming to Johannesburg, South Africa October 14-15.

Ken Cochrum:

Co-founder @ Indigitous

Ken began whole-heartedly following Jesus during his second year as a mechanical engineering student at the University of Texas. After graduation, God led him on staff with a passion to disciple men and build spiritual movements.

Ken and his wife Ann have invested the majority of their 29 years on Cru staff in helping grow student-led movements. In 2010, they agreed to give leadership to Cru’s Global Digital Strategies to accelerate the use of digital strategies throughout the organization. Ken believes that the digital realm is the key to helping fulfill the prophecy from Habakkuk 2:14, which says, “For the Earth will be filled with the knowledge of the glory of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.”To that end, in 2013 Ken co-founded Indigitous, a movement passionate about connecting people to Jesus using digital strategies. Learn more here

We are in the final leg of preparation for Indigitous. As the excitement builds up, so does our expectation for what God will do. Someone once said, “If you are not encountering any challenges, then you are not walking with God. You left Him behind a while ago.”

We want to be where God is sending us and so, we have decided to take 3 days of prayer and fasting starting tomorrow, Tuesday 4th Oct to Thursday 6th Oct. We will do a partial fast, where we don’t eat anything from 6am to 6pm and only eat in the evening. We invite you to join us.

The prayer items are as follows:

  1. Visas for all applicants. Let’s ask the Lord to open a door since He alone has the key Rev 3:7
  2. Finances for those still in need. The bible says that Gods provision follows His mission. Rom 8:32, Ps 34:10
  3. Approval to attend the meetings from team leaders from various countries. Prov 21:1
  4. For our hearts to remain in tune with God. Pray that we would remain focused on Jesus and our relationship with Him so that we will hear that which He speaks to us, Prov 4:23

Heb 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

See you soon @ INDIGITOUS jo’burg!
