Challenges for #HACK Cookeville:
Ending Addiction through Technology in the Upper Cumberland
The Upper Cumberland Medication Safety Taskforce is interested in developing an online resource to help make information related to treating opioid addiction more widely available. The problem we are trying to address is that healthcare providers and patients (especially in more rural regions) have a hard time knowing what resources are available. The idea is to create a place for one-stop shopping for regional resources related to opioid addiction and its treatment. In addition, it is trivial to become certified to administer Naloxone in TN. Teams will also engage in creating solutions for identifying legitimate administration locations.
The Papyrus Project: Deploying Serval to support communication in disaster areas
The Papyrus Project is looking to evaluate the use of Serval to support communication for disaster stricken regions.
Recent disasters have highlighted the need to support communication when cellular and wireless networks become unavailable. The Papyrus Project is a shorter term effort meant to identify and evaluate systems such as Serval that support digital communication in areas where standard networks are either down or unavailable. The applications of such technology go beyond disaster support and will be explored by a small team during the hackathon.
