2016 Highlights

Here are some of the highlights of what happened in the Indigitous Network in 2016:

First Indigitous Leadership Team formed

Indigitous formed its first official Leadership Team, responsible for overseeing the global direction and strategy of the movement.


Indigitous Sao Paulo, Brazil Conference

Indigitous São Paulo brought together 50 participants to explore digital strategies for transforming Latin America. Attendees engaged with practical concepts and insights from global and regional leaders, discovering ways to use technology to advance God’s mission.


Indigitous Johannesburg, South Africa Conference

Indigitous Johannesburg welcomed 80 attendees to explore the theme “Moving from Information to Experience.” The conference featured keynote speakers Japie Swanepoel, Tefo Mohapi, and Arjo de Vroome, who shared strategies for creating engaging, experiential journeys with digital content. Participants gained practical insights on using digital tools to transform information into meaningful experiences that connect people to Jesus.


Indigitous #HACK launches

More than 1,400 coders, designers, strategists, and innovators participated in #HACK across 28 cities in 15 countries—the largest global collaboration of its kind to date. Attendance ranged from five participants in Los Angeles to over 160 in Manila. With 32 partner organizations providing 14 missional challenges, participants engaged in 67 continuous hours of hacking, creating impactful projects to advance God’s mission worldwide. Other Indigitous events in 2016:

Nine Indigitous # events were held across Ethiopia, the Philippines, Nigeria, Ecuador, Mexico, and Argentina, bringing together approximately 420 attendees. These gatherings united digital creatives, ministry leaders, and innovators to explore practical strategies for using technology to share Jesus, build community, and create meaningful online experiences. From hands-on workshops to inspiring keynotes, each event equipped participants to take their digital skills and apply them to mission-focused projects in their local contexts.
