What’s Up, Indigitous? February 2025 Highlights

For the Indigitous network, February was bustling with activity as communities from every corner of the globe gathered to strategize and launch gospel-focused events.

South Korea

Indigitous South Korea launched their first virtual event on February 9th via Zoom. The event was hosted completely in Korean and included an overview of Indigitous, meditation and prayer about what ‘finding your place in God’s mission’ looks like for the Indigitous South Korea community, and a time for sharing and questions. The community is also planning to host a #HACK event in 2025.

South Asia

In February Jaison, from the Indigitous community, spoke about missions in a digital age at a conference for over 200 people in South Asia. At the conference Jaison shared print materials about an upcoming website currently being built to equip followers of Jesus to use technology to share their faith.

“During the conference there was a noticeable shift in mindset—attendees began seeing the digital space not just as a tool for communication, but as an active mission field,” said Jaison. “The impact was immediate, with five digital mission initiatives emerging in local contexts. From these initiatives, we already have passionate individuals stepping up to pioneer and take one of these initiatives forward.”

Thailand

In Bangkok, a group from the Indigitous community has been meeting each month over the past four months to strategize around the question: ‘How can we support refugees in Thailand in finding job training and building useful skills?’

Bangkok has a large population of immigrants, many of whom experience challenges when integrating into a new community. These strategy sessions demonstrate a unique example of collaboration as entrepreneurs from numerous industries including technology, F&B, coffee, and the arts gather with the goal of restoring dignity and providing opportunities for people on the move.

Philippines

From January 20th until February 28th, people from the Indigitous community in the Philippines committed to pray, fast, and stand in faith for the healing of their nation. Throughout the 40 days of prayer and fasting, those participating focused on 2 Chronicles 7:14: “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

On February 28th the Indigitous community in Iloilo hosted a virtual event of prayer for the digital space in the Philippines. The team also shared striking statistics from Global Digital Headlines about the use of digital media in the Philippines.

United States

On the 28th of February the Indigitous Community in the United States participated in Gather25, a 25 hour gathering of the global church across seven continents. The event served as a collaboration of ministries, partners, and leaders united around one vision: to gather the entire global Church for 25 hours of prayer, worship, repentance, and commissioning.

New Zealand

On February 19th Karl Udy, Digital Strategies Director at Tandem Ministries, joined Pathways Bible College’s More Than Theology podcast for an episode: “Digital Media: Why Should Churches Care?” During the episode Karl discussed why it is essential for ministries and churches to care deeply and think strategically about how they use digital technology.

Africa

In February Simon Seow, co-founder of Indigitous, connected with African leaders from the Africa Resource Network who are championing missions in a digital age within the CCCI (Campus Crusades for Christ) network. Simon conducted a training, ‘‘Growing in Effective Partnerships,” to coach and encourage the leaders in their current partnerships and ongoing collaborations.

Nigeria

Indigitous Nigeria hosted a special digital training in online evangelism on February 15th. The event was open to the public and provided all who joined with the tools and strategies needed to share their faith in the virtual space.

The Indigitous community in Nigeria also hosted a “True Love Waits” virtual talk on February 14th to discuss love and sex within Biblical guidelines for youth in the community.

Ethiopia

Indigitous joined the Ethiopian Youth Ministry Leaders Summit for a virtual event from February 13 – 14 to encourage and connect with students across Ethiopia.

Kenya

For students in Kenya, a ‘situationship’ is a significant topic. Yomi, from The LIFE Ministry Kenya, led an open mic Zoom forum, “Dealing With Situationship,” on February 13th to support students and answer their questions.

Tazania

On February 5th The LIFE Ministry Tanzania staff had a time of connection and learning with Austin Okomohwo from The Great Commission Movements of Nigeria.

The Indigitous Community in Tanzania also joined a tech meetup on February 25th, where tech enthusiasts gathered to learn about the ethics of artificial intelligence in ministry.

Indigitous Global

In the month of February Indigitous global, in partnership with Arkitekyuklid, a social media artist, pushed out a Valentine’s Day social media campaign. The campaign included a graphic depicting the extent of Christ’s love and was posted by multiple local Indigitous communities in their native languages across Facebook and Instagram. The campaign reached over 540,000 people and received over 45,000 engagements.

On February 13th, Indigitous hosted its first virtual Vision Keeper’s gathering of 2025. Russ Martin, co-founder of Indigitous, presented a draft of the Indigitous Vision Map, and all of the Visions Keepers in attendance shared their input. Evi Rodemann, founder of LeadNow e.V., life and business coach with an MA in European Missions and Intercultural Christianity, shared the importance of mentoring and equipping young leaders in raising up the next generation in local communities. She also highlighted the need to remain open to God’s direction.

“What is God preventing you from? Have the courage to say, ‘Maybe we’re too focused on one direction, and God is whispering to take a different path,’” said Rodemann.

Indigitous joined MediaLight Network for a Digital Literary Q&A on February 28th led by Ptr. Chuck Quinley and Ron Titular on the topic: ‘The Importance of Digital Literacy for Your Ministry.’  Those in attendance learned how digital literacy can transform ministries, expand reach, and help engage the next generation effectively.
