The Congress brought together people from over 200 countries, representing the global church across generations, denominations and industries including: churches, parachurches, NGOs, missions, theological education, and the marketplace.

Over 50 people from the Indigitous network from over 17 countries were present at the Congress. While some came as participants, many were a part of the 3,500 Congress volunteers who served on the Congress Team.

“When people from the Indigitous network were serving with the global church as a part of the Congress Team, we witnessed the impact of cross-cultural, cross-organizational collaboration,” said Russ Martin, co-founder of Indigitous and Chief Communications Officer for the Lausanne Movement.

The Congress presented a unique opportunity for the global body of Christ to stand as one around a united call to: Let the Church Declare and Display Christ Together.

Digital Discovery Center (DDC)

Indigitous joined 42 exhibitors at the Digital Discovery Center at the Fourth Lausanne Congress. The DDC posed an opportunity for Congress participants to discover how digital tools and technology are transforming global missions. In addition to exhibiting, Indigitous championed the DDC with the Lausanne Movement to spotlight the unique opportunities for ministry in a digital age.

“The Digital Discovery Center served as a vital platform for connecting Congress participants with organizations who modeled sharing the gospel at the right time, in the right place, and in the right language through digital channels,” said Martin.

Indigitous also hosted a microtalk for Congress participants to discuss Gospel centered innovation. Jomer Gallana, Jonah Jala, Nick Wu, Samson Usmael, Liam Savage, and Bernie Mapili shared examples of what ‘missions in a digital age’ looks like in the Philippines, Ethiopia, the United States, and globally.

“It was a privilege to share with the global church what God is doing through people in the Indigitous network,” said Jonah Jala, Global Director of #HACK2024 and Director of Digital Engagements at Indigitous. “It’s the story of individuals who are continuously discovering their place in God’s mission and taking steps of faith to reach their world.”

People from the Indigitous network representing over 28 ministries and organizations also gathered for an Indigitous ‘meet-up’ on September 25th at a coffee shop inside the Songdo Convensia. As a way of spotlighting the potential of missions in a digital age, Indigitous distributed jackets, flyers, tote bags, enamel pins and hundreds of stickers.

“At the Fourth Lausanne Congress we were able to meet so many people from the Indigitous network in person,” said Simon Seow, co-founder of Indigitous and emcee at the Fourth Lausanne Congress. “Serving the global church together, shoulder to shoulder, created a deeper sense of community and joy.”
