What is the Mutelu Trend?
According to a survey done by social media data expert Zanroo, Thai Gen Zs are increasingly interested in belief-related topics or “Mutelu” in social media. Popular topics online include fortune telling, make-up and fashion to increase one’s luck, and products and services that help one find a soulmate. The term was derived from an Indonesian horror film “Mutelu: Occult War”
Data also shows a total of 3.91 billion engagements related to Mutelu topics in Thailand—reflecting a significant interest in spirituality among Thais.
