FaithTech Leading Month-long Christian Tech Innovation Sprint

FaithTech Innovation Sprint

This is an exciting time for Christians who desire to put their faith to work for God. Earlier this month, more than a thousand participants from 141 cities and 29 countries took part in Indigitous #HACK2020, working on 90 missional projects to help reach the unreached with the Gospel. There are still more #HACK2020 events to come, with some locations in Africa and Latin America hacking next month. Meanwhile, FaithTech is putting on an Innovation Sprint throughout November that offers a great opportunity for Canadian developers to do digital missions work.

FaithTech is holding a four-week program to solve real-world problems in Jesus’ name. According to FaithTech, this is a “non-threatening entry point to Kingdom-focused product development.” Those who register for the Innovation Sprint will receive problem pitches prior to the event, giving time for you to discover a problem that you’re passionate about solving. While the development work will be done online, there will still be a social component.

The website says: “The core structure of this program is centered around 4 meetups, happening every Wednesday during November. These will act as ‘launchpads’ for you to work with your team to build an awesome solution. Outside of these meetups you commit as much as you can, sharing tasks out with your team.”

The FaithTech Innovation Sprint is a way to learn product development skills with a focus on taking the message of Jesus into the world. It is also an opportunity to find community with other Christian developers throughout Canada, and learn the process of taking something from problem to prototype in only four weeks.

Though the sprint is geared towards development, you don’t have to be a techie to join. “If you’re passionate to help design solutions to real-world problems, there’s a place for you,” FaithTech says. The Innovation Sprint begins November 1 and takes place online throughout Canada.
