Community Guidelines

In becoming an Indigitous community member, you acknowledge:

  1. We join Indigitous to learn, grow, collaborate and bless others.
  2. We do not promote personal agendas (whether private, professional or political).
  3. As Christians participating with Indigitous, we see ourselves as part of the same Body and therefore seek to play well together. (See our Statement of Faith)
  4. Dissenting views need to be expressed respectfully.
  5. Please contact others on the platform, but refrain from broad spamming of the community.

#HACK Terms

Licensing and IP

BY PARTICIPATING IN INDIGITIOUS #HACK, YOU AGREE TO THE FOLLOWING CONDITIONS:

“You” means the Participant.

“We” or “us” means Indigitous and its related entities conducting Indigitious #HACK.

Participation

Anyone is welcome to register to participate in the Indigitious #HACK event. Participation is fully voluntary and participants are not entitled to compensation.

Solutions Submission

Indigitous #HACK will be held at each #HACK location starting on October 20, 2017. Prior to the start time, you must be registered to participate in Indigitous #HACK either online at https://indigitous.org/hack or in person at your local Location. Children under the age of 13 should be registered and accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.  If you wish to submit your solution, select the “Submit Solution” button from the relevant challenge.

All submitted solutions should directly address one or more of the Indigitous #HACK local challenges to be eligible for posting. Solutions not addressing a Challenge will be posted publicly at the sole discretion of Indigitous. By submitting a solution, you grant Indigitous permission to display, copy, combine, compile, distribute and disseminate your solution as needed to support the Indigitous #HACK event. All solutions will be reviewed prior to posting. Solutions will not be accepted if they include:

  • Threatening, slanderous or obscene language
  • Personal attacks
  • Discriminatory language (including hate speech) based on race, national origin, age, gender, sexual orientation, religion or disability
  • Sexually explicit material or other material that would violate the law
  • Material that promotes commercial services or product
  • Proprietary information that you do not hold the right to make public
  • Solutions submitted to which the submitter cannot plausibly hold the copyright or other intellectual property rights
  • Personally Identifiable Information (e.g., social security numbers, postal and email addresses, phone numbers)

Intellectual Property Rights in Solutions

All posted solutions will be available for others to download or use. You agree that any original content (that is, content created by you for the Indigitous #HACK event) is freely available without restriction or is licensed as open source as defined by the Open Source Initiative: http://www.opensource.org/docs/osd. If you do not specify a specific OSI compliant license, Indigitious will distribute your original content under the Apache 2.0 license. See http://opensource.org/licenses/Apache-2.0

Use of Third Party Materials

If your solution requires the use of non-Indigitous provided materials (such as a dataset or code) (your “Solution Materials”), you are responsible for ensuring that your Solution Materials are available without restriction or, at a minimum, are also licensed as open source as defined by the Open Source Initiative: http://www.opensource.org/docs/osd. Examples of appropriate licenses can be found here: http://www.opensource.org/licenses.  You are solely responsible for all required verification or investigation of the availability of your Solution Materials prior to submitting your solution. Any licenses applicable to your Solution Materials must be identified in the documentation submitted for your solution. Any solutions which do not include appropriate license documentation for Solution Materials will not be accepted for posting.

Warranties

You represent and warrant that you have sufficient rights to authorize the publication and dissemination of your solution to support Indigitous #HACK and to use and to authorize others to use your Solution Materials, whether those materials are owned by you or others (as specified in the “Use of Third Party Materials” section of this Agreement). You are wholly responsible for your solution. This means you are liable if your solution (1) is determined to be defamatory, abusive, derogatory, offensive, or otherwise inappropriate, (2) violates any laws, rules or regulations, or (3) infringes, or constitutes a misappropriation of, any intellectual property rights or confidential information of any third party. We reserve the right to remove your solution from the Indigitous.org website at any time in at our sole discretion.

Publicity

Except where prohibited, submission of a solution constitutes your consent for use of your name, and/or hometown and country information and information about your solution for promotional purposes in connection with Indigitous #HACK through any form of media, worldwide, without further permission, payment or consideration.

Liability

Your local Indigitous #HACK Location is solely responsible for compliance with any laws, rules or regulations applicable to prizes or contests in its jurisdiction. Indigitous is not responsible for the conduct of any Indigitous #HACK events. You agree to release and hold Indigitous and its related entities harmless against any and all claims against them resulting from your breach of any of the representations, warranties or obligations contained in this Agreement, including claims related to the use of your Solution Materials.

You assume any and all risks to you associated with your submission of a solution. Therefore, you also waive and release any and all claims or causes of action against Indigitous and their officers, employees and agents for any and all injury and damage of any nature whatsoever (whether existing or thereafter arising, whether direct, indirect, or consequential and whether foreseeable or not), arising from the submission of your solution to Indigitious #HACK.
