Indigitous will #HACK for the unreached this October. In the fifth year of our annual global missional hackathon, we will mobilize people around the world toward a single goal: bringing the Gospel where it’s not.
Of the 7 billion people in the world, 5 billion don’t know Jesus. With digital, there are no more closed countries. Digital missions allow us to overcome borders, geographic constraints, persecution, and isolation. During the COVID-19 pandemic, people around the world are more open than ever to the hope of God, but reaching them requires new solutions and strategies. Join us for Indigitous #HACK October 2-4 or October 9-11 to create unique solutions to the challenges of reaching the unreached.
Last year, 1100 hackers in 37 cities, 26 countries, and 6 continents engaged their faith through technology to build solutions to issues faced in their cities, churches, and countries around the world. You can read a report summarizing that event below.
Is it really happening?
Right now you might be thinking, “Are they really planning an event at a time when all events are being canceled?” The COVID-19 pandemic has forced us to cancel other events that were planned for this year, and only God knows what state the world will be in come October. Though it will likely look different than previous years of the event, we are trusting God for a successful hackathon.
What is in your hand?
In Exodus 4:1-9, God asks Moses, “What is that in your hand?” Like the Israelites enslaved in Egypt, as so many countries are under quarantine and slowly opening back up in 2020, we are facing challenges and uncertainty like never before. God is now asking us what we have in our hand. Like Moses, we realize the full extent of the tools God has given us only when faced with opposition and strife.
The time is now for Christians in digital spaces to stretch out our hands in faith to make a strong impact for the Gospel. We welcome your prayers as our brothers and sisters plan for #HACK 2020 and make critical decisions on hosting virtual or in-person gatherings. Spread the word and sign up to join us this October!
